Unlocking the bootloader on any phone is a sensitive step and it must be taken care of responsibly. The same goes for unlocking the bootloader on Xiaomi phones. If done correctly, you’ll be able to enjoy the latest customizations, ROMs, Root, and much more.
In this article, we’ll guide you on how to unlock bootloader on Xiaomi phones. Before heading to the instructions, let’s discuss what exactly the bootloader is and why should you unlock it.
What is a Bootloader?
A bootloader is a piece of software which determines which operating system or software is to be loaded when a device is powered on or reset. In simpler terms, it’s the first thing that starts up when you power on your device.
Bootloaders are usually locked because they come preloaded with the device. This is to protect you from malicious content and to ensure that your device runs in the safe environment. So, in order to unlock the bootloader and enjoy the latest software, you need to unlock it.
Why Should You Unlock Bootloader?
If bootloaders are locked by default, then why do people unlock them? Well, unlocking the bootloader has its own perks. For instance, an unlocked bootloader allows you to install custom ROMS, Root your device and install various other mods and tweaks. It also allows you to get more control over your phone by allowing you to access the root of your device. However, it’s important to note that unlocking the bootloader will erase all the data stored on your device, so make a backup of all the important data first.Steps To Unlock Bootloader On Your Xiaomi Device
